Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 3 (ANI): Niel Nitin Mukesh has come a long way in his career. In a journey spanning over 18 years, he has proved his mettle time and again with his acting prowess, especially in projects such as 'Johnny Gaddaar', 'New York', and 'Jail' among others.
Credits also go to his 'Guru' and veteran actor Anupam Kher for making Neil learn valuable aspects of acting. His training at Kher's acting school, 'Actor Prepares', gave him a solid foundation in acting techniques.
On Thursday, Neil, son of renowned playback singer Nitin Mukesh and grandson of legendary singer Mukesh, recherished his memories spent at 'Actor Prepares', where he was enrolled as a student alongside Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, and Jugal Hansraj.
He conducted an exclusive guest lecture for the students of Actor Prepares. On receiving this opportunity, Neil expressed his gratitude to Anupam Kher.
'I can only say that life has come a full circle. Anupam sir is very close to my family and I respect him like a father. I love him as much as I love my father. He was my first Guru and will always be my Guru. Before acting, I did a film with him, 'Vijay'. As a child artist, I played the role of junior Rishi Kapoor. We spent a very good time together on sets. There was a very lovely song, Akkad Bakkad Bambe Bo. We sang that song together,' Neil told ANI.
Neil revealed he was only 15 when he joined Kher's acting school.
'When I grew up a little, and I came to know that he (Anupam Kher) wanted to open his own academy for actors, so I was determined to become a part of it. I was 15 years old, but he gave me a chance. And a lot of our today's superstars, they belonged to the first batch from there, and he gave me that opportunity. Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Jugal Hansraj were also a part of that batch. I have always felt very attached to Anupam ji and I am very impressed by his filmography because the kind of films he has done, the kind of range he has, from comedy to villain to family oriented films, all kinds of characters, all kinds of colors, literally I have seen Anupam sir mould himself, he is like a a chameleon, one of the finest actors, not just of our country, but worldwide, I would say,' he expressed.
'Anupam sir is an institute, and we've learned so much from him. That it's such a great honour . but maybe as a mentor, maybe as whatever you might consider, they felt that I was worthy to come today and be a part of it,' Neil said.
Speaking of Neil's recent projects, he came up with corruption-exposing drama 'Hisaab Barabar' in January this year. (ANI)
